Planning a Debut in Cavite: The 6-Month Checklist and What It Really Costs

A debut is the one party a Filipino family plans for eighteen years and books in six months. This guide is for the parents and the debutante together: what the evening actually includes, a month-by-month checklist, and honest numbers for Cavite rather than Manila hotel prices.

What a debut actually includes

The program is the heart of it. The grand entrance, then the cotillion, the waltz with her court that most families consider the most important dance of the night. The 18 Roses are the young men who each present a rose and share a dance, with her father first. The 18 Candles are the women who light a candle and give a message. The 18 Treasures are gifts, each with a short speech. Add the AVP, the parents' speech, the debutante's own speech, and the cake, and the program alone runs three to four hours before open dancing begins. Cocktails take an hour, the entrance ten to fifteen minutes, each set of eighteen twenty-five to forty, the cotillion up to twenty-five, dinner and speeches about an hour. That is why the venue matters more than the theme. You need a floor for the cotillion, a stage for the eighteens, a sound system that can carry speeches, and a hall that can seat 100 to 150 comfortably, which is the usual guest count.

The 6-month checklist

  • Month 6. Set the budget, pick the date, and book the hall. Saturdays from December to February go first, and Cavite venues are often reserved 12 to 18 months ahead for peak dates. A pencil booking at Centennial Events Hall is free and holds your date while you decide.
  • Month 5. Book photo and video, the caterer, lights and sound, and a coordinator if you want one. Ask the caterer what they supply: a mid-range caterer normally brings round tables for eight to ten, Tiffany or covered chairs, linens, china, buffet skirting, one waiter per one to two tables, and a mobile kitchen.
  • Month 4. Choose the theme and the stylist, and order or reserve the gown. Gown rental runs from about PHP 15,000 to PHP 60,000; hair and makeup PHP 5,000 to PHP 12,000.
  • Month 3. Write the program and confirm the eighteens. Send the list to the host two weeks before the event so the script is ready.
  • Month 2. Send the invitations and hold the food tasting. Invitations sent four weeks out is one of the most common mistakes, because the eighteens need time to prepare a message.
  • Month 1. Walk through the hall with your suppliers, confirm the final headcount, and rehearse the cotillion. A rehearsal the week before is the difference between a waltz and a shuffle.

What it really costs in Cavite

Nationally, a debut ranges from about PHP 150,000 for a simple celebration to PHP 1.5 million and beyond for a grand one, and venue, catering and gown take 60 to 70 percent of whatever you spend. Cavite, Laguna and Batangas suppliers generally run 80 to 90 percent of Metro Manila prices. Catering is the biggest single line. In 2026 Metro Manila guides put budget catering at PHP 295 to PHP 450 per head, standard at PHP 450 to PHP 850, premium at PHP 850 to PHP 1,500 and above; debut-specific packages with styling sit at PHP 800 to PHP 1,200 basic and PHP 1,200 to PHP 1,800 mid-range. One Cavite caterer publishes debut packages at PHP 27,000 for 50 guests and PHP 42,000 for 100, rising to about PHP 50,000 for 100 with stage, red carpet, centrepieces, basic sound and a DJ. The rest, at Manila 2026 rates: a DJ PHP 10,000 to PHP 30,000, a sound system PHP 8,000 to PHP 20,000, a host PHP 8,000 to PHP 15,000 for a newer emcee and PHP 15,000 to PHP 40,000 for an established one, photo and video with a same-day edit from about PHP 55,000 for two shooters, and a cake PHP 8,000 to PHP 20,000 from a home baker. A realistic 80-guest Sunday lunch, worked out by a Philippine event planner, comes to about PHP 200,000: venue PHP 40,000, catering at PHP 900 per head PHP 72,000, gown rental PHP 18,000, hair and makeup PHP 12,000, five hours of photography PHP 25,000, DJ PHP 20,000, cake PHP 8,000, styling PHP 15,000, invitations PHP 8,000, souvenirs PHP 6,000, and a PHP 10,000 buffer. Scale the catering line for 100 or 150 guests and you have your range.

What the venue provides and what you bring

Read the venue contract before you sign it. The charges that surprise families are the ones in the fine print: a 10 percent service charge, 12 percent VAT, cake corkage of PHP 30 to PHP 100 per slice, lechon corkage of PHP 5,000 to PHP 15,000, outside-caterer fees of PHP 200 to PHP 1,000 per head, and generator rental of PHP 10,000 to PHP 30,000. At Centennial Events Hall the tables, chairs and sound system come with every package, you may bring your own suppliers, and the current inclusions and corkage terms are listed plainly on the packages page. Ask, and we will put it in writing.

Timing and the weather

The dry season runs November to May, the wet season June to October, and typhoons are worst from July to September, which is when an indoor, air-conditioned hall stops being a preference and becomes the plan. Peak dates from December to February cost 20 to 40 percent more across suppliers. January, February, June and September bring 10 to 20 percent supplier discounts, and a Friday night, Sunday lunch or weekday date can cut venue rates by 10 to 25 percent.

Five mistakes to avoid

  • Guest list creep: 80 becomes 280 by the time the titas have spoken. Set the number in month six and hold it.
  • The unread contract: corkage, midnight overtime, and in-house catering rules live there.
  • The talented cousin with a camera: hire a professional for the one night you cannot repeat.
  • The late cotillion rehearsal: rehearse at least a month out, and again the week before.
  • No buffer: keep 10 to 15 percent aside, because something will cost more.

Come and see the hall

The easiest way to size a debut is to stand in the room. Check a date, book a free ocular visit, and bring the debutante. We reply within the hour, and Saturdays in December to February go first.
